Charleston is a quaint city located in South Carolina. You can spend your mornings walking along the beautiful Battery promenade, which overlooks Charleston Harbor, and then explore the elegant French Quarter, with its boutique shops and cobblestone streets.
Charleston is a fantastic option for a three-day reunion. The diverse city has something for everyone, whether you’re a fan of history, southern food or amazing architecture.
With markets, museums, parks and restaurants creating a vibrant downtown area, you could spend all three days walking the beautiful streets. But with the harbor, islands and plantations waiting to be explored, balancing the two will help you make the most of your short, but sweet three days in Charleston, South Carolina.
It would be great to stay at one centrally located hotel, so that that group events are easy to organize and that we have lots of opportunities to spend time together.
For those wishing to extend their stay, Charleston is a great fit for golfing families, couples and buddies. Perhaps we can organize a round for those interested. If golf is not your thing then an alternative “event” can be organized.

After saying that I would never organize a reunion again, the recently completed and wildly successful 50th reunion has energized me to propose another one for those living in North America (USA and Canada)...........although other class members are always welcome.
We have decided to hold the reunion in Charleston, SC, during the last week of April 2025. We chose this time because of the great weather. Both Easter Sunday and the last day of Passover fall on April 20, 2025, so anytime after this would be best.
I have enlisted the help of Walter and Leonie Leventhal to assist in organizing this event. We believe that Charleston, with its rich history and Southern charm, will provide a wonderful backdrop for our reunion.
We understand that life can be unpredictable, especially given our ages and that it may be difficult to plan too far in advance. However, we wanted to give you plenty of notice so that you can start thinking about the possibility of attending.
We will send out more details as we finalize our plans, but we wanted to give you a heads-up so that you can mark your calendars. We hope that as many of you as possible will be able to attend and that we can catch up on old times especially the folks who could not make it to our recent 50th reunion in Cape Town.
Well, what do you think? Is this something you would be interested in participating in?
It will be casual and family oriented. No academic session. "Just shootin' the breeze with ol' friends."
"Can't never could".........Positive thinking, Southern style. If you think you can't you won't be able to accomplish something, but if you think you can, you'll succeed. So why don't y'all make an effort to join us!
Warm regards,
Trevor Kaye, Walter Leventhal, and Leonie Leventhal.

Question1: Do you want the reunion to be on a weekday or weekend?
Answer a: Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday
Answer b: Friday, Saturday and Sunday
Aim to stay 3 full days and nights so we can take full advantage of our stay in this great part of the country.
Tues, Wed, Thur probably best as there will be less tourists during the week and bookings may be easier. Flights are also supposed to be cheaper on a Tuesday! The cheapest days to depart if you're flying within the U.S. are midweek — generally Tuesday or Wednesday. For economy tickets, Tuesdays are about 24% lower than peak prices.
The best prices tend to drop off once the flight is less than three weeks away. If it's 21 days before you plan to travel and you haven't seen a flight deal to your destination, you'll want to stop waiting and book the airfare available
